The state of Arizona has recently passes a law, it would be better to name is as the latest immigration reform in Arizona; this law empowers the police of the state who they believe might be an illegal immigrant, to demand to provide documents to prove that they are legal residents of the state are not illegal immigrants. But this law has tickled several issues and questions that they media may not have pay heed before designing their argument for or against this Arizona immigration law. Apart from the issues regarding the legalization of racial there are some more legal questions that have surfaces along with this law.
First among them is certainly that none of the American citizens are required to carry any proof of their identification always. May be the legal professionals might the other way, but there are licensed activities like driving, fishing, carrying a weapon but it is certainly absurd to carry the proof of your citizenship whenever you are out of your home.
Fascism literary means the forced promotion of the authoritarian agenda and this new or this new immigration reform in Arizona is much similar to it, where the people are required to carry documents of their citizenship whenever they are on the road so that they can clear the doubts of the questioning cops. None of the American citizens require carrying their citizenship proof until and unless they need to apply for a passport to leave the country or return back to the country. This new inclusion in the Arizona immigration law is going to do not good in solving the problems of the increasing number of illegal immigrants in the country. This immigration law reform does not or cannot stop illegal immigrants from coming into the country only it is meant to search out the persons who have already entered our borders illegally.
This Arizona immigration law is only meant to find out the person who are not the legal residents of the state but in its turn can be seen to be a clear violation of the constitution right of the citizens. What if someone forgets his citizenship proof at home; will he be deported? This immigration reform is certainly backwards that resembles fear mongering which was the practice in the Nazi ruled Germany.
Undoubtedly, this law is aimed at a specific group of people but raises more issues with the respect to American citizens. This law may affect anyone who does not look American as the police is given the right of profiling. However, the state of Arizona can make a lot of money from this, as now everyone needs to pay to get a proof of his or her citizenship or legal residence status.
Now if the state of Arizona has to make it mandatory to carry the proof of one’s citizenship, carrying birth records, passports, green cards or neutralization cards whenever you are on move can either do this. Moreover, the immigration law is a federal issue and not one belonging to the state and so there can be a lot of people getting pulled out for not appearing to be from Arizona and people will try to find out fraudulent ways to get hold of permanent resident status.
This immigration reform, which has been recently added to the Arizona immigration law, is more reactionary and less solution oriented which will ultimately beget troubles than solving pre existing problems.
